Bollinger is just one of many new manufacturers working towards offering the world’s first production electric bakkie.

While every other manufacturer is aiming their products squarely at the leisure market, Bollinger is also aiming its bakkie at commercial customers.
That much is clear from its latest offering, called the E-Chassis. It will be available in both single and double cab. Various wheelbase lengths will also be available.
Bollinger’s business model will be the same as any other manufacturer that offers chassis cab models. An approved third-party company will install whatever accessory the owner requires. Examples include tippers and motorhomes.
The E-Chassis rides on the same platform as the standard leisure bakkie, which means a twin electric motor setup (all-wheel drive) and a 120kW hour battery pack. Bollinger claims it can carry 2267kg and claims a range of 320km.
