Citroën C4 Cactus Rip Curl – aimed at surfers

By: CAR magazine

Citroën and Rip Curl, the legendary surfing brand, have joined forces to create a special edition of the C4 Cactus.

The model, called the C4 Cactus Rip Curl is fitted with the Grip Control system providing enhanced traction,  which is associated with the more powerful engines such as PureTech 110 S&S and BlueHDi 100, each mated to a manual transmission.

Grip Control uses advanced anti-skid function and offers five operating modes: Standard, Sand, Off-Road, Snow and ESP Off. The last four modes can be operated up to a pre-set speed limit and if the driver pushes the throttle beyond that, it switches back to “Standard”.

Based on the C4 Cactus Flair trim, the special edition has rear parking sensors and camera, a navigation system, automatic headlights and wipers,  automatic climate control, cruise control, 6-speaker MP3 audio, tinted windows and a panoramic glass roof.

Colors available at launch include Obsidian Black, Sport Red, Arctic Steel, Tapenade Grey and Pearl White, but by the end of the year, a new unique body color will be offered.

The compact vehicle will premiere in Geneva and go on sale in the first half of 2016.
