Stage 10: Tuesday 15 January
The tenth stage of the 2013 Dakar Rally took place yesterday between Cordoba and Rioja, Argentina, with a 353km special stage route. Race leader Peterhansel had a superb day, increasing his lead to 52:38 overall. De Villiers and Von Zitzewitz may have played it safe in the special stage – being content with a decent fourth place – but they retained their second position overall and are ahead of the Russian Mini contestant Novitskiy by over 16 seconds.
With Al-Attiyah out of contention, contenders are vying for the top five position, but Roma from Spain held onto his position in his Mini, as dit Terranova who finishes fifth overall.
