Great Wall Motors’ (GWM) is set to release its newest models, including the P500 bakkie, TANK 500 SUV, and the latest Jolion SUV, to South Africa’s agricultural community at the NAMPO 2024 event from May 14 to 17.

NAMPO has grown from a meeting place for maize farmers into a leading agricultural expo that showcases the newest advancements in farming technology, equipment, and livestock breeding. It has become a key event, showcasing the agricultural sector to tens of thousands of visitors each year, while also providing a platform for automotive industries,  like GWM, to introduce vehicles designed for farmers and rural areas.

For the first time, GWM will present its entire range of vehicles—from the P-Series bakkies to HAVAL, TANK, and ORA models—under the GWM banner at NAMPO, one of the world’s largest agricultural exhibitions, drawing approximately 50,000 attendees annually from South Africa and abroad.

Conrad Groenewald, COO of GWM South Africa, highlighted the significance of NAMPO as a pivotal platform for introducing the GWM P500 double cab bakkie, TANK 500 SUV, and new Jolion SUV. This year’s exhibition will also be the first public presentation of GWM’s unified brand lineup, demonstrating its development after seventeen years in the South African market.

The P500 bakkie, a notable addition to South Africa’s competitive light commercial vehicle sector, offers both four-wheel drive and a choice of turbodiesel or petrol hybrid engines. The TANK 500 SUV features a seven-seat configuration, a new petrol hybrid engine, advanced transmission systems, and all-wheel drive.

Additionally, the Jolion SUV, highlighted for its contemporary styling and hybrid capability, is particularly geared towards meeting the needs of farmers, according to Carina van der Merwe, HAVAL and ORA Brand Manager.

Alongside these new entries, GWM will also display its established vehicle lineup, including the entire range of P-Series bakkies, the recently released TANK 300 SUV, and the economically priced all-electric ORA 03. The event provides an extensive overview of GWM’s broad spectrum of vehicles and their technological features.
