Iconic British adventure marque, Defender, is set to launch a new high-performance, all-terrain machine: the Defender OCTA. This launch marks the introduction of the most menacing version of the Defender to date, boasting a V8 Twin Turbo engine.

Powered by a V8 Twin Turbo mild-hybrid petrol engine and featuring state-of-the-art 6D Dynamics air suspension, the Defender OCTA is engineered for exceptional all-terrain performance.

The Defender OCTA sees the debut the 6D Dynamics technology, which works to offer an unmatched combination of capability, comfort, and control, both on and off the road. The system’s hydraulic interlink technology and innovative pitch and roll control system allow the Defender OCTA to achieve a stable posture during various driving manoeuvres while ensuring optimal wheel travel and articulation off-road.

Mark Cameron, Managing Director at Defender, shared: “The Defender legacy has always been about superior all-terrain performance, dating back to the original Series 1 in 1948. The Defender OCTA elevates this legacy with its striking presence, cutting-edge technology, and meticulous craftsmanship. It promises to deliver extraordinary performance and a new level of luxury, allowing our clients to embark on remarkable adventures.”

The OCTA name, inspired by the octahedron shape of a diamond, reflects the vehicle’s luxury status and durability. A distinctive diamond graphic, encircled and displayed on various parts of the vehicle, underscores this model’s flagship status. This graphic is intricately designed with a gloss black diamond set within a machined and sandblasted titanium disc on each Signature Graphic panel, highlighting the use of titanium for its durability and natural resistance to the elements.

Cameron further commented: “The OCTA name and signature graphic signify the vehicle’s robustness, allure, and high-end luxury, drawing inspiration from its diamond-like resilience. This new signature graphic is especially noteworthy as it represents the first time it will appear on a Defender, setting apart all future flagship models.”

The Defender OCTA is currently undergoing rigorous testing across various terrains worldwide, from the snowy landscapes of Sweden to the deserts of Dubai, the Nürburgring track, and the rocky terrains of Moab.

In anticipation of its grand unveiling later this year, selected clients will be invited to exclusive previews through the new global Defender Elements event series. Those interested in the initial release of the Defender OCTA are encouraged to get in touch with their Defender retailer.
