Lexus GX Overtrail revealed with host of JAOS off-road upgrades

Thought Lexus is stopping producing bespoke versions of the Land Cruiser Prado-based GX? Well, think again. Following the reveal of the Monogram GX, which sports a variety of luxury appliances, including a pizza oven (believe it or not) and drinks cabinets, the luxury arm of Toyota has whipped the wraps off the GX Overtrail.

Designed in collaboration with JAOS Corporation, the GX 550-based Overtrail model is fitted with an array of 4×4 upgrades to enhance the go-anywhere luxury SUV’s off-road capability even further. Among the raft of newly-fitted off-road components, the customised GX has been handed a new “rugged” front bumper, updated fender garnishes, tube-style side steps (for additional protection and, of course, easier ingress and egress) and larger mud guards. To protect vulnerable underbody items, aluminium skid plates have been added to the package. A roof rack is also present. The GX 550 Overtrail rides on a set of 18-inch, lightweight alloy wheels, each of which is fitted with Toyo Open Country all-terrain tyres.

“Through collaboration vehicles, such as the GX 550 ‘Overtrail’ JAOS version, our goal is to continue showcasing the pleasure of vehicle customisation, with the aim of offering our customers increasingly enriching car life experiences,” said the Japanese automaker.
