Mazda have revealed a single interior image of its CX-8 SUV and also some specifications.
Intended for Japan, at least initially, Mazda have confirmed that the new SUV will have six- and seven-seat configurations. It will join the CX-4 as Mazda’s second SUV offered solely in Asia.
The CX-8 will be based on the same platform as the CX-9 (which is sold in the US and Australia), however the newer vehicle will be slightly shorter and narrower.
The CX-8 will sit at the top of the brand’s line-up in Japan, as the CX-9 is not sold there.
Australian Wheels magazine reports that the CX-8 will exclusively receive the 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine from the Mazda 6, potentially delivering the same 128kW and 420Nm of torque.
