Mitsubishi has confirmed that its new compact Eclipse Cross, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, will make its local debut in 2018.
The specifications for the vehicles that will be launched in South Africa have not yet been revealed, however in Europe the Eclipse Cross will be offered with the choice of two engines.
There will be a choice between a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to an automatic transmission (CVT),and a 2.2-litre turbodiesel mill fitted with a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
The new model will slot in between the ASX and the Outlander.
In addition to the Eclipse Cross, Mitsubishi Motors SA says that in celebration of its 100-year anniversary as a vehicle manufacturer, it plans to launch “a host of new and improved models” in the coming months, including the new Pajero Sport.
