MODDED HONDA JAZZ OFF-ROADER IS THE BUSINESS

By: CAR magazine

For freaky Friday we unearthed this gem, a Honda Jazz off-roader that loves to tear up the trails

When you think Honda Jazz, we bet you don’t think go-anywhere off-roader, right. Nah, the Japanese supermini is very good at boring, sensible stuff like turning circles, passenger ingress and egress and replacement-parts pricing. This is not that Honda Jazz.

The car in question is a 2015 model and is the work of an Indonesian enthusiast/YouTuber by the name of Whatzs Productions who now lives in the US. What started out as a sort of vanity project to fit the vehicle with loads of off-road parts and make it look badass, has morphed into genuinely improving the vehicle’s versatility for exploring the wilderness all over the US.

The biggest change is a life kit, new set of wheels and 30-inch all-terrain tyres. There’s a snorkel from a Toyota Land Cruiser, flared fenders from a Jeep Cherokee, a new front fascia, spare-tyre mount, tow hitch, and two jerry cans for overlanding missions. Although the standard Jazz is much more economical than your average off-roader so those are probably more cosmetic than anything else.

Yup, the vehicle is still front-wheel drive, but that doesn’t seem to hinder its off-road capability as much as you’d expect. Thanks to the relatively short wheelbase, rugged tyres and small overhangs, it can get the job done most of the time. And the owner isn’t shy to use his front winch to get over bigger slopes/obstacles.

Eager to explore in his modified Honda Jazz off-roader, the owner heads out regularly in all sorts of weird and wonderful terrain, as you can see from the images. Going to these lengths to mod a front-wheel into an off-roader isn’t for the faint of heart, but credit where credit is due, this is one damn cool Honda Jazz.
