Nissan‘s long-awaited new Navara pickup, available from August 2021, will be more comfortable and better equipped, promise Nissan.
Features for African conditions
The 2021 model features a tough body-on-frame construction for challenging terrain and the load area is easier to work with than before, care of a step built into the new rear bumper. The bed is also equipped with a flap-type, tie-down hook to secure both large and small objects.
Other features include an Active Brake Limited Slip Differential system (ABLS). In four-wheel-drive mode, the system manages power delivery and wheel braking between the front and rear axles and between the left and right of the vehicle, depending on traction and speed. Working with the Vehicle Dynamic Control system (VDC) and ABS brakes, this system enables drivers to be more confident and feel secure when towing large payloads and driving through muddy terrain with less acceleration and brake operation. Trailer Sway Control is also a feature.
The pickup features all-new C-shaped quad-LED projector headlamps, as well as seamless signature LED tail lamps.
Luxury inside
Inside, Navara should be a pleasant place to be; better materials, improved tech and infotainment systems, roomier seats and better visibility are key focus areas. Sound softening insulation, laminated windshield and front windows will make it quieter, a new steering wheel has been added and the instrument panel, highlighting the 8-inch navigation screen and a 7-inch higher resolution TFT screen, will make the new tech easy to access. Auto folding mirrors will be a welcome addition, as will the engine push start button, intelligent key and dual air-conditioning, rain sensing wipers, rear armrest cup holders, rear air vents and multiple USB ports.
