Thanks to recent updates on social media platform X, we know that Tesla’s Cybertruck will feature two specialised off-road modes, along with several other off-road features.
The Overland mode aims to enhance the vehicle’s handling and traction across various terrains such as rock, gravel, deep snow, and sand. On the other hand, Baja mode is designed to increase balance and grip during high-speed off-road excursions. In Baja mode, Tesla explains that the vehicle’s balance is optimised by reducing the intervention of Stability Assist, allowing for more agile handling.

The Cybertruck will also include a Trail Assist feature, akin to cruise control for off-road conditions, which supports hill ascent and descent management by mitigating wheel slippage. Additionally, a Slippery Surface feature is integrated to enhance traction on icy or snow-laden surfaces.
For those interested in technical capabilities, the dual-motor Cybertruck offers front and rear differential locks that can be controlled from within the cabin. The more advanced tri-motor variant, referred to as CyberBeast, includes a continuously active virtual rear differential lock when in Overland mode.
The vehicle also boasts adjustable ride heights with settings including high, very high, and extract, alongside a Wade mode that presumably aids in navigating challenging water crossings.
Tesla has also incorporated a CyberTent mode into the Cybertruck, which levels the suspension to create a flat surface for more comfortable camping experiences. Control over all in-cabin lighting and AC outlets is provided as well.
