In an attempt to help Government mitigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic Peugeot Citroën South Africa has extended their support by providing vehicles to be used by the Gauteng Health Department during this lockdown period.

The vehicles will be used by the tracing teams and teams carrying out mass screening and testing activations in the townships and informal settlements.

Receiving the keys to the vehicles, Gauteng MEC of Health, Bandile Masuku said:

“We are very grateful for the partnership with Peugeot and Citroën South Africa.”

“These cars will make a meaningful impact to help flatten the curve of Covid-19 by providing mobility for the Health workers as they move forward in a more aggressive approach to testing and screening on the ground.”

“Our Health workers are doing such an heroic job, at great risk, to stem the disease from spreading and PCSA’s generous provision of these vehicles will provide vital support in this battle.”

MD of Peugeot Citroën South Africa Leslie Ramsoomar said: ‘The company remains mobilised at all levels. “We wanted to be an active player in curbing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and help relieve the massive strain placed on the medical resources”.

‘They are the heartbeat of our community and we want to help them as much as we can, so they can travel safely. There is no better way of doing this  than offering our under-utilised cars to provide mobility to medical workers’

“We are happy to assist the Government in taking the necessary steps to alleviate this pandemic so that we can all go about our daily lives as quickly as possible with least loss of life.” Leslie added.
