The SIV-2 has made its world debut at the Geneva International Motor Show and gives us an idea of the possible direction SsangYong may be heading with their mid-size SUVs in future.
The SIV-2 measures 4 440 mm long, 1 855mm wide and 1 640mm high and sits on a 2 675mm long wheelbase. SsangYong claims that it has the necessary features to be further developed to create alternative models with powertrains such as HEV, PHEV and EV.
Inside there’s a mix of Alcantara, wood and aluminum and speakers mounted within the bucket seats to ostensibly improve the surround-sound experience.
The SIV-2 on display in Geneva, is fitted with a 1.5-liter direct-injection, turbocharged petrol engine, combined with a 10kW electric motor-generator that takes its juice from a 500Wh lithium-ion battery.
