Volkswagen has revealed an official sketch of the T-Roc SUV on social media, which is set to debut at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
VW first revealed the mid-sized SUV T-Roc concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

From the official sketch it looks like the production car won’t deviate from the concept too much, with LED headlamps integrated into the full-length front grille. The squared-off wheel arches appear more square in general it has a boxier stance. Bulky C-pillars and prominent shoulder line set it apart from the Tiguan.
The T-Roc will ride on the same MQB platform that underpins the Q2 Audi and is expected to be similar in size to the Q2.
The T-Roc will be positioned below the Tiguan SUV, with engine and gearbox options expected to be taken from the Golf range. The entry-level 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol that delivers around 86kW and the 110kW 1.5-litre TSI EVO turbo petrol engine (that was first seen in the facelifted Golf) will be available.
We should see 1.6 and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines in the T-Roc, with power ranging from 86kW to 110kW. Likely to be offered with front-wheel-drive and VW’s 4Motion all-wheel drive, the VW T-ROC’s choice of gearboxes will include a six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG automatic.
Other Volkswagen T-Roc models such as a T-Roc GTE (plug-in hybrid) my be made available further down the line.
The German manufacturer has also revealed a little about the look of the T-Roc in a video featuring T-Roc designers.
