A few weeks ago you may have seen the Belgian Formula One Grand Prix. The track at Spa-Francorchamps has one of the most daunting corners on the calendar. Eau Rouge is a VERY fast left-right-left sequence with a significant elevation change.
While F1 cars boast enough downforce to drive upside down in a tunnel, thereby allowing them to negotiate Eau Rouge flat out, other formula aren’t as fortunate.
Witness these two accidents from a regional race meeting which took place last weekend. The Radical racer experienced a tyre blowout resulting in a horrific shunt against the tyre wall (note how calm one of the bystanders remains through the entire crash). And the Seat driver seems to have experienced a lack of rear-end grip resulting in… well, another large shunt.
Thankfully both men escaped their respective accidents with little injury:
