African Outback, a local manufacturer of 4×4 accessories, has launched a recreational vehicle unit, called the Outback Roller Drawer. This accessory holds 150 kg and can be fitted to the Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage, Toyota RAV4 and Land Rover Freelander.
The Roller Drawer is said to offer easy access and an organised load area, is lockable and saves space. Furthermore, it boasts room on top to mount a fridge (in addition to carrying 150 kg inside the drawer, it can carry 150 kg on top). There are also covered, hinged, side storage areas.
“It is ideal for anyone who transports valuable items – with the RVU, all your valuables are out of sight. In addition, delicate, high tech items are safely stored and therefore can’t get damaged,” a spokesman for African Outback said on Wednesday.
The new RVU “features the same level of engineering expertise (as other components in the range), this is a product which will last forever,” said Adolf Waidelich, managing director of African Outback. The unit is carpeted in a shade matching the particular vehicle’s interior and carries a three-year unconditional guarantee.
African Outback claims to offer roller drawers for virtually every 4×4, station wagon, estate car, recreational vehicle, double cab and single cab vehicle, in both luxury and commercial variants, available in South Africa.
The RVU is available from leading 4×4 stores and costs R2 900, which includes fitting.
