Toyota South Africa plans to expand its local line-up with the addition the Innova. This new model will complement Toyota’s existing budget MPV – the Avanza – but with its seven or eight seats and various comfort features, the Innova offers more space, seating and comfort.
Two models will be available; a seven-seater and an eight-seater. The seven-seater offers a reverse camera and full leather interior, while nice-to-haves such as air-conditioning, power steering and a six-speaker sound system with MP3-compatibility come as standard across the range. Safety features include central locking and dual airbags.
There is only one engine option on offer; a 2,7-litre petrol engine developing 118 kW and 241 N.m of torque. The Innova's suspension set-up comprises double wishbone with stabiliser bar up front and four-link coil springs at the rear.
The Toyota Innova will be launched in South Africa next week and will make its local debut at this year's Johannesburg International Motor Show.
