Although this Audi TT is wearing the TT S badge on the front grille, in essence it is the new TT RS undergoing testing. Caught testing at the ‘Ring, the top of the range TT is set to debut next year.
As was the case with the previous Audi TT RS, the new model will also feature a 2,5-litre, five-cylinder turbocharged engine. As expected, the engine will develop more power and torque than the previous generation.
If reports are to be believed, powered will increase to around 300 kW. Audi is set to ditch the manual gearbox for this model, as it will only offer a faster shifting, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Expect this RS to reach 100 km/h in 4,0 seconds (maybe 3,9?), before hitting a top speed of around 280 km/h.
We could also expect to see the introduction of a standard RS version and an RS Plus.
As the TT S retails for R700 500, expect the TT RS to trade at closer to R1 million, when it is eventually introduced in South Africa.
