Not too long ago Fiat revealed it’s new C-segment sedan to be the Tipo which will have a large focus on equipment-to-price ratio as a value for money product. The Tipo will be distributed to a variation of 40 different countries throughout Europe, Asia and Africa.
Engine options for the Tipo will be:
70 kW 1,4-litre 16v Fire petrol
82 kW 1,6-litre 16v E.torQ petrol
70 kW 1,3-litre MultiJet II turbodiesel
90 kW 1,6-litre MuliJet II turbodiesel
Depending on which of the three trim levels consumers decide to opt for, transmissions options will either be a five- or six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. The Tipo will be rested on a McPhearson strut on the front and a torsion beam on the rear axle to give the sedan a light overall mass.
The equipment-to-price ratio theme is continued on the inside where you will find FCA’s Uconnect infotainment system mated to a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth integration, audio streaming, text reader and voice command, AUX and USB ports with iPod integration, controls on the steering wheel and (as an optional extra) a rear parking camera and the new TomTom 3D Touch navigation system.
Expect to see a Tipo hatch and wagon variant in time to come.
