The Fiat 500 has been around for a good few years with several high performance variants being made to celebrate one of the brand’s most historical productions. The 595 badge is usually used for the brand’s Abarth models which produce more of a dynamic driving experience. This is the 595 OT and it’s set to compete in this year’s Italian Tourism Championship and Abarth Selenia Trophy.
The 595 OT has been tuned by the Abarth division to be as competitive as possible by making use of the 1,4-litre turbocharged T-Jet engine which produces 142 kW to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. If this doesn’t suit your racing desires then the 595 OT can be fitted with a performance kit which includes a racing exhaust system and 305 mm floating front brake discs.
To make the 595 OT lighter it has been fitted with a set of OZ racing wheels with grippy Michelin tyres while the stripped interior makes use of sport seats and a roll cage. It’s also been given front tow hook for emergency situations.
Orders for the 595 OT have begun and Abarth have stated that current 500 Assetto Corse owners may have their models converted to this newer edition. Pricing is yet to be confirmed but Fiat promises that it won’t cost more than what’s it’s worth as its aim is to provide the “joy and excitement of wheel-to-wheel racing will remain accessible to another generation of enthusiasts.”
