Lexus isn’t actually stingy when it comes to standard equipment. But the local arm of the Japanese automaker has seen fit to add even more standard kit to its CT, RX and LX ranges.
The CT200h, for instance, gains a new “digital media holder” housed in the centre console, which provides storage for portable music devices and easy interface via the built-in USB, auxiliary and Bluetooth systems.
The hybrid hatchback is now also available in four new two-tone colour paint combinations. With the roof and pillars finished in high-gloss black trim, the body can be specified in either White Quartz, Sonic Titanium, Mercury Grey or Morello Red. A new, single-tone Amber paintjob has also been added to the range, replacing the Fire Agate hue.
The Lexus RX450h SE, meanwhile, also benefits from a suitably fattened standard equipment list. Second-row passengers now enjoy electric seat adjustment and well as seat-heating. Up front, a “panoramic view monitor” replaces the reverse camera, offering the driver a wider field of vision.
Lastly, the Lexus LX flagship SUV now features a pre-crash electronic safety system that scans the road ahead, warning the driver of potential obstacles. Lexus says the system is also capable of taking corrective action, increasing brake pressure, closing windows and adjusting vehicle dynamics to prevent a collision.
The system includes adaptive cruise control, while lane-keep assist and an adaptive high-beam function are also now standard. To complement the latter system, sequential indicators are added.
