We usually associate Brabus with crazy, high-performance modifications, but the German tuning company has also been known to up the sense of luxury in certain Mercedes-Benz models. This particular one is based on the Sprinter and it’s called the “VIP Conference Lounge”.
Why did the company choose the Sprinter over the current V-Class? Well, it’s likely because, well, size matters. Basing the VIP Conference Lounge on a commercial vehicle means that Brabus has plenty of interior space to play with in order to create a properly comfortable setting.
The exterior design is not exactly subtle, making use of the aggressive Brabus bumpers with daytime LED lamps. There’s also a somewhat conservative set of 205/75 R16 wheels. But, to truly understand the VIP Conference Lounge, you have to peer inside.
Passengers of this luxury liner have access to an array of features, such as a water dispenser and refrigerator, two television sets (with a BluRay player and Apple TV), a 10-inch tablet infotainment system and LTE internet access.
Driving the VIP Conference Lounge is the 140 kW 2,1-litre CDI engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The vehicle has furthermore been fitted with air suspension to provide an even more comfortable experience for its passengers.
The Brabus van starts at €224 910 (R3 458 000), which means it’s just about R1 200 000 more than a base Mercedes-Maybach S500.
