Mercedes-Benz says its facelifted Vito range has arrived in South Africa, available in Panel Van, Tourer and Mixto guise.
Pricing for the eleven-strong local line-up kicks off at R573 041 and runs through to R1 109 788 (see full pricing at the bottom of this story).
Revealed in March 2020, the mid-cycle refresh for the Vito includes items such as a revised grille design and update interior materials (“Caluma” fabric, for instance, replaces the previous “Tunja” version and features a white stripe pattern on the seat cushion and backrest). The cabin furthermore gains a new air-vent design (with a turbine look) as well as a “heavy-duty and waterproof floor covering” that provides “improved dampening”.
There’s also a fresh range of infotainment systems, each featuring digital radio reception. The Audio 10 system also has a Bluetooth interface, while the new Audio 30 and Audio 40 arrangement each include a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. Fresh safety systems are also on the cards, including a new (optional) active brake assist function.
While Europe features the latest available engines (plus an all-electric Tourer variant), the local turbodiesel range carries over unchanged, with powertrain options again including an 84 kW/270 N.m 1,6-litre unit, as well as the old 2,2-litre mill offered in three states of tune (100 kW/330 N.m, 120 kW/380 N.m and 140 kW/440 N.m).

All models come standard with a five-year/100 000 km “ServiceCare BestBasic” that covers the labour to perform the service; the cost of all oils and lubricants for the engine, gearbox and axles; and the cost of air and fuel filters.
The optional “ServiceCare Complete” version, meanwhile, is described as an “all-inclusive maintenance package” that adds wear-and-tear repairs (to items such as brakes, battery, clutch, suspension and oil) to the mix for a fixed cost.
