In a bid to offer buyers more choice at the upper echelon of the CH-R’s range, Toyota has added lighting upgrades and newer safety specification to its Luxury grade model, which has a price tag of R519 900.
Power remains the same at 85 kW and 185 N.m from a 1,2-litre turbocharged engine which can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a CVT.
Back to the upgrades on the Luxury model, and from an aesthetic point, the flagship features sequential turn indicators and unique light-cluster treatment. Dramatic Y-shaped light guides are paired with high-intensity Bi-beam LED light clusters with integrated Daytime Running Lights (DRL). LED fog lamps are also available.
Furthermore, the Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance system has been upgraded with the addition of all-speed Adaptive Cruise Control, and the Lane Departure Alert gizmo now features Lane Trace functionality. Basically this system not only helps prevent the vehicle from leaving its lane, but it also centres it within its lane while following the natural arc of the road.
Other standard features in the C-HR Luxury flagship model include automatic climate control, push-button start, auto-retractable mirrors, park distance control, heated seats and leather seat upholstery.
