On the motoring landscape, there are a few nameplates that have been around for longer than most motorists have been alive – 911 and Defender immediately come to mind. In the realm of roadsters, however, very few have the same kudos as that of the Mercedes-Benz SL.
With the eighth generation on the horizon, due to be unveiled on the 28th of October 2021, Mercedes-AMG has offered more information regarding the world premiere of the latest droptop ‘Benz.
The SL has always impressed with its impeccable suppleness and everyday usability, something which the new model is said to retain, now as a 2+2, too. For the first time ever, the SL will feature all-wheel drive and will be dynamic and comfortable in equal measure being the first SL ever developed by Mercedes-AMG.
The world premiere will be a digital affair, shown simultaneously to the public via numerous channels. The event will be available in six different languages with individual questions being answered in a virtual exchange with Mercedes-Benz’s experts.
No word yet on local availability, but we can likely expect a late 2022 local debut for the latest iteration of the quintessential roadster.
