Last week we looked at which Chinese automaker achieved the most market share in the month of July. With a continual increase in sales and frequent featuring in the Top selling list, we decided to unearth data to determine if they have unsettled the status quo against popular manufacturers that have normally dominated the now-shared segments.
This list will look at what Chinese automakers Haval and Chery have on offer, and compare them to competing models from firms entrenched within the South African market.

Kicking the list off is the midsize crossover SUV segment which features the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and Haval H6 (in multiple flavours).

In terms of the light commercial vehicle segment, Haval’s GWM division offers two bakkies locally. With the value-for-money theme carried over to the ladder-frame-based products, sales are dwarfed by the market leaders from Ford and Toyota.
