German tuner BS Teile Center has created a Frankenstein AMG GT R out of a selection of OEM aftermarket bits, including components from a GT R Pro while engine tinkering take power ratings up to a ludicrous 664 kW.
It still employs an AMG sourced twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8, which pushes out 430 kW as standard. The major jump in power is compliments of the standard duo of turbochargers being replaced with the Weistec Engineering W.4 upgrade. Additionally, a carbon fibre ARMA intake lines the visible parts of the engine bay. Wagner air coolers, IPE downpipe and sport catalytic converters assist in unrestricted breathing. The original seven speed transmission in the car has remained stock but now has a reinforced clutch, to help cope with the added power.
On the outside, things are subtly different from OEM Mercedes models with the same nomenclature. The front bumper, fender flares, side skirts, rear wing, rear bumper and rear diffuser are borrowed from a GT R Pro as used components. Being a Mercedes parts supplier has its perks. Most notably is the decal strip that lines the side of the German creation which boasts the name of its maker; BSTC Performance. 20-inch wheels finished in titanium grey are also taken from the race inspired GT R Pro while Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres connect each corner to the ground.
The top of the range Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, which is capable of 537 kW and 800 N.m can get to 100 kmh in 3,1 seconds before topping out at 325 kmh so BS Teile Center’s creation is a truly impressive feat. Unlike the Mercedes-AMG sanctioned model, this AMG GT R doesn’t get all of the electronically adjustable goodies nor several levels of selectable traction control but its all out power approach should remedy this.
