The Goodwood Festival of speed has been a highlight in the global motoring calendar since inception in 1993.
Not only does the annual event play host to some brilliant hillclimb action up the Duke of Richmond’s driveway, it also provides an opportunity for manufacturers to showcase the latest, greatest and most special of their wares in a dynamic display par excellence.
The 2022 instalment of the event saw Aston Martin send the remarkable DBX707 up the hill for the first time, the most powerful SUV in the world as Peter Frost recently found out. In addition, the swan song to the V12 shoehorned into a Vantage, the V12 Vantage, rocketed itself up the hill after a rather impressive burnout out the blocks, as well as the Valkyrie hypercar with its spectacular 856 kW Cosworth developed hybrid powertrain with an 11 100 rpm redline, the V12 Speedster and even the iconic Aston Martin Bulldog.
With former Ferrari boss Amedeo Felisa as CEO and ex-Ferrari engineer Roberto Fedeli as chief technical officer, Aston Martin appears to be on a good wicket for some exciting products and developments in the coming years. If their Goodwood FoS lineup is anything to go by, we can well believe it…
