Toyota’s iconic Land Cruiser has been reimagined as a 6×6 off-roading beast in a new rendering from digital artist Rostislav Prokop.
In 1951 Japanese soldiers discovered an abandoned Willy’s MB Jeep in the Philippine jungle. The discovery served as inspiration for the Land Cruiser’s design, a vehicle which would become a flagship among Toyota’s off-road offerings. Despite the Cruiser’s success in the years that followed, a recent drop in sales caused Toyota to discontinue the model in 2021. In 2023, digital artist Rostislav Prokop resurrected the vehicle with a wild rendering as a 6-wheeler which would place it in the class of the dune-eating 6×6 G-Wagon.

Traditionally a car that came with a conservative colour palette, Czech artist Rostislav’s iteration boasts a two-tone black and white finish with a red stripe that splits the colours down the middle. From the right, you’d believe it to be all-black, from the left, all white.
The 4,9-meter, 3-axel beast has also been chopped into a flatbed bakkie, reminiscent of earlier J200 models, transforming the car into an even more utilitarian transport. A subtle LED light bar runs along the front facade, while black metal bumpers wrap around from both the rear and front into flared fenders. The hood sports a dual-cowed induction, complemented by a pair of high-flow exhaust pipes at the back.
Hotcars, who co-published the digital renders, have suggested that Toyota’s 5,7-liter V8 would be enough to power the proposed 6-wheeler but added that introducing twin-turbos would give the car the boost necessary to compete with the G-Wagon (allowing the vehicle to lie in the 440-520kW range). Before any prospective buyers get their brokers out, this will remain as a rendering, and knowing Toyota has discontinued the model, it is unlikely that this will ever actually materialise.
