The man behind the wheel might be a cross motorist, but of this we are certain – that is not a Cross Polo…
It’s no mean feat coming up with a few words to accompany this video, but truth be told, we just have no clue what is happening here. It would seem as though a Volkswagen Polo Classic has left the road and it’s owner is having a tough time returning it to the black stuff. Between the slippery grass, open differential and subsequent burst radiator, it seems unlikely that this Polo will make it back onto the road with out the assistance of another vehicle and a tow-rope/winch. For some reason or another, it would seem as though Polos fall victim to their owners rather often, although this could be due to the fact there are just so many on the road – statistically, the likelihood of a mishap befalling a Volkswagen Polo is rather high.
Posted by Dr Ridhwaan Suliman, a Senior Researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the caption accompanying the Tweet reads, “Our response to the #COVID19 pandemic.” Perhaps the Dr Suliman is referencing South Africa’s seemingly laissez-faire attitude towards the pandemic of late.
