We strapped our equipment to the iCaur V23 2WD to find out how this all-electric SUV fares in our stringent test regimen.

Built on Chery’s i-MS (Multi-Magic New Energy Architecture) platform, the V23 measures 4 220 mm in length, 1 915 mm in width, and 1 845 mm in height. The wheelbase spans 2 735 mm, with the ground clearance rated at 205 mm for the 2WD and 210 mm for the AWD. Tested here, the 2WD serves as the opening gambit to the two-strong lineup. The 2WD is equipped with a single, rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous electric motor producing 100 kW and 180 N.m of torque. The 2WD features a 53.93 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack offering a claimed operating range of up to 360 km.
iCaur V23 2WD acceleration
Tipping our scales at 1 738 kg, the V23 2WD test car completed the 0-100 km/h dash in 10.7 seconds; besting iCaur’s claim by three-tenths of a second. In the overtaking acceleration stakes, the 2WD sprinted between the 80-100, 100-120, and 120-140 km/h increments in 3.22, 4.82 and 9.38 seconds, respectively.

iCaur V23 2WD braking
Housed behind 19-inch alloy wheels, the 2WD is fitted with ventilated front/solid rear disc brakes. On our test strip, the press unit recorded an average stopping time of 2.86 seconds, garnering it an ‘excellent’ rating by our standards, over a distance of 40.65 metres. The best and worst recorded stopping times were 2.69 and 3.22 seconds, respectively.
