Many a motorist has suffered the inconvenience of needing to hike up his or her vehicle with a jack when stricken by the roadside with a flat tyre. That unfortunate group however, excludes owners of the classic Citroën DS model that was in production in between 1955 and the mid Seventies. Thanks to hydropneumatic suspension technology and variable ride height capability, the vintage DS can jack itself up easily, as owner Johan Burger from Somerset West, near Cape Town, demonstrates here. In the July 2012 issue of CAR magazine, we will feature this classic DS in conjuction with one of its successors, the new DS5. Don’t miss it!
