The Porsche 928 has never been the most desirable of Porsches, and used examples can be found relatively cheaply. For bakkie-crazy South Africa, this project may for that reason be quite inspirational. Meet the six-wheeled 928 pick-up, built by enthusiast and car-nut (perhaps with the emphasis on “nut”) Harry Thoma. Besides the obvious changes, the rest has apparently left relatively untouched, so this GTS version should theoretically be able to do around 285 km/h. What is the load carrying ability? Not much, apparently. Harry has tested it with some cases of beer but they damaged the loadbed’s walls…
