Suzuki Auto South Africa says it has yet again broken its monthly sales record, with 2 142 units registered in February 2021.

As we’ve already reported, that’s enough to place the Japanese firm sixth on the list of SA’s best-selling automotive brands for the month.

The record figure comes four months after Suzuki Auto SA crossed the 2 000-mark for the first time (with 2020 also a record year). It’s also some 110 units more than its previous record, which was achieved in October 2020.

Based on the new record, Suzuki’s overall market share sits at a fresh high of 5,7 percent, while its passenger vehicle market share comes in at a healthy 8,6 percent. Some 1 626 units or nearly 70 percent were sold through the firm’s 71-strong dealer network.

“We are humbled by the success of the Suzuki brand in South Africa. Our sales success follows many years of hard work and investment in our network and product range and it is testament to the quality of Suzuki’s cars and SUVs,” said André Venter, divisional manager for sales and marketing at Suzuki Auto SA.

Venter said a “significant portion” of the sales growth could be attributed to new models that have recently joined the local line-up, such as the budget-beating S-Presso and the Vitara Brezza.
