You get Leafs, and you get leaves. One of them I propose to turn over in 2015, and the other is part of a special feature on EVs and hybrids that you can read from page 88.
The metaphorical leaf comes in the form of a confession: I have a few bad driving habits.
Firstly – and I know this is very shameful – I do occasionally send a short text message while driving. I know, I know; I’m hanging my head in shame as I type this (from my desk). It’s a dangerous thing to do, not to mention illegal. But I’m not the only one who does it, either. I suspect many of you are feeling a little shifty as you read this.
So here’s the deal: I swear I will never send another text message on my phone while driving, and I challenge you to do the same.
And, secondly, sheesh I can be impatient behind the wheel. It’s hard not to be with the amount of jaw-droppingly bad driving that happens on our roads. But, still… Getting worked up about the idiot cruising slowly in the fast lane, or the taxi stopping twice in the middle of the road within 50 metres to offload two passengers too lazy to walk that distance, doesn’t help. I’m still going to get where I’m going, albeit a minute or two later, so I might as well get there with my blood pressure somewhere near normal.
“Just chill, dad,” says my daughter. I’m taking her advice.
