With less than a month to go before the Formula One circus arrives in force at the inaugural United States Grand Prix, sole tyre supplier to the teams, Pirelli, hosted a VIP event to christen the brand-new Austin circuit. Among the celebs who got to sample the track for the first time were former F1 World Champion Mario Andretti and US actor (and accomplished racing driver) Patrick Dempsey.
The Lotus F1 team was also on hand and sent driver Jérôme D’Ambrosio out onto the 3,45 mile (4,82 km) circuit in the their 2010 Formula 1 World Championship challenger, the R30. Jump on board with D’Ambrosio for a lap of the track and hear what he has to say about it ahead of the November 16 race. We especially like to the look of the raised first corner.
It’s amazing to think that it’s been less than a year since Red Bull Racing sent David Coulthard to check out the track.
