If you didn’t see it during, qualifying Formula One’s producers brought us a very cool (hot?) camera for the Italian Grand Prix. The infra-red camera showed the heat generated by the front tyres over the course of a lap.
The only car that carried the new technology was Paul di Resta’s Force India, which unfortunately crashed out on the opening lap when the Scot locked up the brakes and rear-ended another car. Watch the heat signatures and the tell-tale white hot spots as he locked up the front tyres.
