Remember Gilles Panizzi? He’s the ex-Peugeot WRC driver, widely considered to have been the quickest man on tarmac at the time, who (famously) performed a 360-degree burnout, mid-stage, as a victory salute to adoring fans while on his way to a stage win at the 2002 Rally Catalunya.
Since retired from competition, Frenchman Panizzi is still involved in testing for various racing outfits and was recently on-hand to give journalists attending the launch of the new Peugeot 208 GTI a demonstration run up a closed section of the Rally Monte Carlo, in the hills above Nice, France.
