No fewer than 140 scintillating Superbikes is the special offering and attraction at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday (4th October). –
– Zwartkops, on the R55, Pretoria West, is a spectacular track for motorcycle racing, where you are not only close to the action but can feel and experience the adrenaline rush of steel-nerved men and women on 2 wheels.-
– Heading the program will be Gavin Lightfoot on his Suzuki in the Superbike event. He will be closely challenged by Zwartkops hero Hudson Kennaugh, Sheridan Morias, Charles Grassie and veteran Peter Labuschagne. The big man from MS2000, Louis van Bergen, can not be left out of the podium picture.-
– The 600cc Silvercup has drawn a top entry with riders like Morias, Donovan Fourie, Jaco Rouse and Gary van den Berg amongst the pack of front runners. –
– If that is not enough, the battle of the twins, which is heavily loaded with Ducati’s, should be headed by Robert Portman, Tony Mingay, Piet Potgieter and Clinton Pienaar. The program has two Powersport Challenges, the most likely winner to come from Michael Short, Deon Jenkins or Quinton van Wyk.-
– Also included in the full spread of motorcycle racing are the exciting new 125cc Derby Class and the 50cc Schoolboy Challenge. These little motorbikes show an amazing turn of speed, and it takes equally-brave young guys and dolls to ride them.-
– The full program is rounded off by the Classic Bikes, many of them single 500’s just to jolt the memory. Veteran riders such as John McKerchar and Alan Hickey are still able to show us what it is all about.-
– See you at Zwartkops on Saturday, 4th October.-
– Racing starts at 11h00. Entry R30 per adult, children under 12 free.-
