While conducting a TV interview following an eventful Singapore GP, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton is interrupted by Ferrari’s Felipe Massa with a sarcastic “good job pal” and a slap on the shoulder. This after Lewis drove into Massa during the race leaving him with a puncture. Fortunately, both being good guys, they left it at that, and Hamilton just continues with his interview.
These two have had a bumpy relationship throughout the season. This included a brief touch, that could have escalated into a crash, at this season’s Silverstone race followed by crashing into one another in Monaco. Then during the qualifying session at Singapore they again almost took each other out.
Subsequently radio material revealing Massa being told by his engineer Rob Smedley to “destroy his (Hamilton’s) race”, has become available. However, Ferrari is adamant that the message was to destroy Hamilton’s strategy, not his car.
