It’s hard to believe a month has passed since the 2022 edition of the prestigious Simola Hillclimb. YouTube channel HillClimb Monsters has put together a 2022 Monsters video compilation of the most rapid creations to take to the 1,9 km route.
The most recent edition of the event was broadcast live on the Simola Hillclimb YouTube channel however sifting through the 3 days each offering more than 7 hours of footage would be an arduous task to find some of the best bits with the most rapid machinery. The compilation embedded below shows the final Sunday Showdown for the King of the Hill title in 2022 where 10 of the fastest cars that were entered throughout the weekend endeavour to achieve the fastest time up the hill.
Have a look at our gallery from the wet qualifying session on Saturday.
During each car’s run up the hill, a graphic also shows stats which includes the engine, engine type, engine position, transmission and the all important power and weight figures. Although we are not sure how accurate these figures may be, they are highly impressive nonetheless. The compilation also crucially displays the times each bespoke creation sets once it passes the final timing zone at the top of the hill with some impressive numbers considering most of the challengers shown bear vague resemblance to the production cars on which they are based.
Each model boasts as impressive an aerodynamic package as it does for power figures with the most iconic and notable in this regard being the Nissan GT-R R35 nicknamed “The Sheriff” driven by Franco Scribante. Of all of the challengers shown it also manages to set a 38,129 second run which is the quickest of the lot. If you didn’t already know, the 2022 Monsters video compilation may just be enough to prove that downforce is rather crucial for high performance machines!
