Visiting British racer Steven Morris will wish to end this year’s South African Production Car Championship season with an overall victory at AA Kyalami this Saturday (November 22). –
– Morris will be in one of the Kaye-Eddie Racing equipe’s BMW 330i entries, alongside the identical car of teammate Reghardt Roets. –
– “We have tested since our previous outing with the car at the Port Elizabeth Aldo Scribante circuit earlier this month. We believe that we know what caused our lack of pace there – and I think that we have rectified the problem,” Morris said this week. –
– The youngster hopes to be on the pace of the semi-works Castrol BMW entries of Etienne van der Linde and Anthony Taylor, who will fight for this year’s Class A Production Car title at Kyalami. –
– Having suffered from robust driving tactics at the hand of other drivers during the year, both the Kaye-Eddie Racing drivers will be out to even the score this last time out. –
– “It would give me tremendous satisfaction to interfere with the two Castrol BMW title contenders’ plans. I have won at AA Kyalami earlier this year, and I know that I can do so again – and if that ruins the Castrol BMW team’s day, so much the better,” Morris concluded. –
– The British youngster currently plans to continue racing in South Africa next season – probably again in the Production Car arena. –
– “I have enjoyed racing here inmensely, and my first season of tin-top racing has taught me a lot. The South African Production Car Championship is as ruthlessly competitive as any international tin-top formula, and I believe that its 2004 season will prove to be a classic one. I would not wish to miss any of it, besides winning some races,” Morris said.
