David Veringa will be looking to capitalise on his stunning start to the season by securing a couple more Formula Vee wins in his Sabat backed Rhema at the Aldo Scribante circuit in Port Elizabeth this weekend. –
– David has laid down his marker as one of the men to beat in the ultra competitive formula after taking two wins at the season opener at Zwartkops racetrack. The youngster was made to work hard for his victories though and he will have to see off competitive challenges from the likes of Andre Herbst (Villiera Motor Clinic Rhema), ex Formula Vee Champion Peter Hills (Peter Hills Auto Clinic Sting), and Dennis Johns who returns to the category in Port Elizabeth. –
– Given the competitive nature of the Formula Vee field and the tight and technical character of the Aldo Scribante circuit, this weekend’s race should prove to be a real spectacle for the appreciative Eastern Cape Race fans. David is resolved to carry on where he left off at the season opener while being mindful of the fact that points are important at this early stage of the season. –
– Part of a three car Sabat Circuit racing team, David has set an example for the other Team Sabat drivers to follow with his early season form. Production car racer Craig Nicholson (Sabat Honda Ballade 180i), and Wesbank V8 campaigner Franco di Mateo (Sabat Mustang) will compete next weekend at the next round of the Vodacom Power Tour, to be held at Cape Town’s Killarney racetrack. Despite the fact that they finished in good points paying positions at Kyalami recently, both drivers will be looking to move onto the podium to make it a clean sweep for the Sabat team.
