Almost an RS Q2? ABT hands Audi’s small crossover extra oomph

Will Audi ever build an RS Q2? Well, ABT Sportsline wasn’t content simply waiting around to find out, so took Ingolstadt’s existing SQ2 and handed it some extra oomph.

The German tuner added its in-house-developed engine control unit to the 2,0-litre turbocharged engine, pushing its peak outputs from the standard 221 kW and 400 N.m to 257 kW and 440 N.m. If Audi were to ever roll out the RS Q2 badge, of course, we’d expect a little more power than that.

Still, these outputs are enough, says the company, to slice two-tenths off the all-wheel-drive SQ2’s claimed 0-100 km/h of 4,8 seconds. Top speed, meanwhile, increases from 250 km/h to 262 km/h.

ABT Sportsline says it also offers a wide range of 19- and 20-inch alloy wheel designs – finished in either “mystic black” or matte-black – for the sportiest version of Audi’s smallest crossover.

The flagship ABT GR 20-inch items feature gloss-black contrasts with a diamond-machined rim lip, and come with a wheel-spacer kit as standard.
