Last hurrah? Mercedes-Benz X-Class handed bold Carlex makeover…

By: CAR magazine

Despite production of the Mercedes-Benz X-Class having already officially ended, Carlex Design has released a new “Exy Extreme+” kit for the Navara-based bakkie.

Interestingly, this comes after the Polish tuner created two “Final Edition” packages earlier in 2020.

This comprehensive package includes a number of alterations to the exterior and chassis, with the latter providing the X-Class with added capability off the beaten path.

The Exy Extreme+ kit features a number of matte-carbon components, such as a front diffuser, bonnet lip, central bonnet cover, front bumper with mesh grille design, wheel-arch extensions, headlamp frames, mirror covers, rear bumper and spoiler. A Carlex Design sticker pack adds further distinction.

Additionally, side steps, a roof lamp cover from Lazer Lamps and a “StyleBar Extreme” load-bay cover have been fitted. A set of 16-inch steel wheels wrapped in Cooper Discover STT Pro tyres provide a rugged look, while a 100 mm body lift and 30 mm suspension lift kit are also included.

The cabin, meanwhile, gains Carlex’s premium leather and Alcantara upholstery for the seats, armrest, door lining, handbrake lever and gear knob. Furthermore, the steering wheel has been reshaped and finished with premium leather. A carbon dashboard panel rounds off the custom interior design.

From what we can tell, no alterations have been made to the bakkie’s powertrain.
