New Land Rover Defender to gain bold wide-body makeover from Lumma

By: Adrian Brown

Lumma Design has released images previewing its planned wide-body kit for the new Land Rover Defender.

Dubbed the CLR LD, the package will provide the fresh-faced British off-roader with a more aggressive body kit.

The kit will include a front spoiler attachment, a new grille, a bonnet attachment, an updated rear apron (housing quad-pipes), chunky side skirts and wheel arch extensions that add 40 mm to the width. All components will be fashioned from carbon-fibre or polyurethane plastic. A roof panel with integrated spotlamps, meanwhile, will be optionally available.

Where wheels are concerned, the range of options is set to include sizes ranging from 19 to 23 inches, depending on the suspension specification. Inside, options will include items such as personalised floor mats, anodised aluminium pedals, premium leather upholstery and more.

Lumma Design says “performance enhancements” and sports exhausts are under development as well.
