New (third-generation) Haval H6: first official images released!

Chinese firm Haval has released the first official images of its new, third-generation H6.

The GWM-backed brand says the new H6 runs on what is its “first truly self-developed vehicle platform”, which was created “at a cost of tens of billions of dollars”.

Haval describes the new architecture, which reports suggest is called the B30 platform, as being “truly global” and featuring “super flexible modules”. So, expect more SUVs to be built on these underpinnings in the years to come.

While technical details about the new H6 are thin on the ground, the crossover is thought to have grown to around 4 650 mm in length. Expect power to come from a turbocharged 1,5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine mated with a dual-clutch transmission (a more powerful 2,0-litre unit is apparently also on the cards).

The new H6 is scheduled to make its first public appearance at the 2020 Chengdu Auto Show at the end of August.
