Volkswagen South Africa recently announced pricing for the initial derivatives in its upcoming T-Cross range. And now we’ve come across a list of optional extras for the fresh-faced crossover.
At the local launch in September 2019, the T-Cross range will comprise a 1,0 TSI Comfortline DSG variant (priced from R334 600) and a 1,0 TSI Highline DSG (starting at R365 000). Of course, we’ve already reported on local trim levels.
A 70 kW version of the 1,0 TSI engine (mated with a five-speed manual gearbox) will arrive in the second quarter of 2020, with the Trendline variant expected to start below R300 000. In the first quarter of 2020, meanwhile, a 1,5 TSI flagship with 110 kW (and the R-Line kit) will be available.
So, what about that options list? Well, for now it covers only two initial variants in the local line-up…
Specifying the R-Line exterior styling package (including 17-inch “Manila” alloys in the case of the Comfortline variant and 18-inch “Nevada” items for the Highline derivative) will cost you an extra R17 850, while upgrading to the Beats sound system will add R8 800.
If you want VW’s “Composition Media” system (complete with App-Connect and inductive smartphone charging) you’ll add R7 250 to the price, although note this is already standard on the Highline model. A R13 000 exterior design package (called “Energetic Orange” and including orange-accented alloys) will furthermore be offered for the Highline variant.
Meanwhile, the “Discover Media” infotainment arrangement (featuring 3D map, App-Connect, voice control, inductive smartphone charging and the brand’s active info display) comes in at R22 850. Specifying just the active info display will cost you R9 000.
In terms of safety equipment, a package comprising a park assist function, a rear-view camera and power-folding side mirrors will be priced at R8 950, while a more comprehensive pack featuring adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor, power-folding side mirrors, lane assist and front assist will cost you R13 000. Upgrading to LED headlamps and optioning a rear-view camera, meanwhile, will add R15 600 to the bill (and be available on the Comfortline model only).
Keyless access will be priced at R5 050, while a removable towbar will cost you R3 900. Finally, two interior trim packages (for R13 000 and R17 850, respectively) will be offered for the Highline variant, each bringing unique finishes for the seats, instrument panel, carpets and headliner.
