Fiat South Africa has quietly expanded its Fullback double-cab range with the addition of a new 2,4Di-D 4×2 AT derivative.
That means the Italian firm’s local arm now offers four double-cab bakkie variants alongside four single-cab models.
Like the range-topping 4×4 derivative, the newcomer employs a 2,4-litre turbodiesel heart, but here it drives the rear wheels rather than all four. Just like in the Mitsubishi Triton on which the Fullback is based, the oil-burning four-pot generates 133 kW at 3 500 r/min and 430 N.m at 2 500 r/min, delivered via a five-speed automatic transmission.
So, how much are we looking at here? Well, the 2,4Di-D 4×2 AT is priced at R500 268, which interestingly makes it some R40 000 less expensive than the equivalent Triton. Check out full pricing for the Fullback range below…
