Pricing! New Jeep Wrangler finally touches down in South Africa…

By: CAR magazine

The new Jeep Wrangler has finally arrived in South Africa, with the local range comprising four variants at launch.

The JL-generation model is billed as the “most capable Wrangler ever” and is offered locally in Sahara and Rubicon trim levels as well as in two- and Unlimited four-door configuration.

Pricing for the Sahara two-door model kicks off at R860 000, with the Rubicon version coming in at R900 000. The Sahara four-door will cost you R890 000, while the flagship Rubicon four-door commands a price of R915 000. That’s a significant increase over the outgoing version, which was priced from R658 900 to R789 900.

Power for the fourth-generation Wrangler comes from a 3,6-litre V6 Pentastar engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The naturally aspirated six-cylinder unit delivers 209 kW at 6 400 r/min and 347 N.m at 4 100 r/min, and now features stop/start as standard. No word yet on whether the new 2,2-litre turbodiesel engine will join the local range at a later stage.

The below pricing includes a three-year/100 000 km warranty and a maintenance plan of the same time and distance.

Pricing:
Jeep Wrangler 3,6 Sahara 4×4 (2-door): R860 000
Jeep Wrangler 3,6 Rubicon 4×4 (2-door): R900 000
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3,6 Sahara 4×4 (4-door): R890 000
